I have just one question. Is it possible to take something complex and make it simple?
I am amazed at how corporations (the people who run them) so flippantly say "we are going to make our product simple", meanwhile they do nothing to make the process they use to create the product more simple. Most of the time, they lay another level of complexity on top of their already complex process. They don't end up with a simple product.
We will never get to simple for our customer, if we don't get to simple first.
We can't take fifty complex steps and then at the very end put in simplicity! Simple has to not just be there at the beginning, it must be the beginning the middle and the end.
"Simple", "easy to use/understand" are words I am hearing a lot right now...but I am not seeing any of it.
The leaders of the new business world are going to make the complex simple and they are going to do that by starting with simple and making sure simple makes it out the door to the customer. Not just slap a "simple"/"easy-to-use" sticker on the box.
Be simple and have a good one!
